Hoy os traigo una canción que, cuando la escucho, hace que me reconcilie con mi vida sobre todo después de la horrible semana que he pasado... Es la música del nuevo anuncio del Iphone 4 (inmejorable anuncio, por cierto) ¡que difrutéis lo que queda del domingo!

A&D:Mesita de Noche [B&A: Bedside]

Hoy os voy a enseñar una parte de mi vida, algo que me hace mucha ilusión. La mesilla que hoy vais a ver fue la primera mesilla que tuve en mi primera habitación de niña mayor... casi nada... sólo han pasado la friolera de ¿25 años? y la mesilla sigue conmigo, solo que ahora, en mi casa.
[Today I'll show you a part of my life, something that makes me very happy. The bedside I'm going to show you now is the first bedside I had in my first bedroom. I think that it's at home since I was three or four years old and it's still with me, but now, in my house.]

Como véis la mesilla era muy oscura, no estaba mal pero aportaba mucho peso visual a la habitación que, además, no es demasiado grande. Llevaba ya tiempo pensando en lavarla, lijarla y darle una buena mano de barniz pero, por unas cosas u otras, lo iba retrasando hasta que este verano me decidí a ponerme con ella. Como os decía, en principio, pensaba dejarla en su color original pero ya sabéis todas que me pierde el blanco y por eso pensé que una manita de pintura podría ayudarme a darle un aspecto más actual.

[As you can see the bedside was very dark and contributed to the room, not too large, with much visual weight. I was thinking about it from several time ago. I think to clean, sand and give it a good coat of varnish but for one thing or other, it was delayed. This summer I decided to get with it. As I said, at first, I thought to leave it in its original color but you know that I heart white and so I thought a coat of paint could help to refresh it.]

Siguiendo los sabios consejos de Belén Cossio, que me ayudo muchísimo y tiene un blog maravilloso, conseguí encontrar una pintura que, sin necesidad de mezclar con ninguna otra, me dió el tono deseado. Yo buscaba un color cáscara de huevo que conseguí con un par de capas de la pintura acrílica Naples Yellow Light de Amsterdam de Talens. Encantada con el resultado!

[Following the good advices, from Belen Cossio who helped me a lot and has a wonderful blog, I managed to find a paint that, without mixing with any other, gave me the desired colour. I was looking for an eggshell colour so I got a couple of layers of an acrylic paint called Naples Yellow Light from Amsterdam. I'm very, very pleased with the result!]

Tras lavarla, lijarla y darle una capa de Gesso (imprimación), le dí dos capas de pintura y, para terminar, limpié el tirador. He de reconocer que me pasé pintando el cajón y ahora no va ni pa'lante ni pa'tras pero,como la mesilla está en la habitación de invitados y los invitados no usan los cajones para no olvidarse las cosas pues... así se queda! jejeje... Para ser mi primer B&A no está mal ¿no? :P

[After washing, sanding and give it a coat of Gesso (primer), I gave it two paint coats and, finally, cleaned the handle bedside. I must admit that I apply so much paint in the drawer and now I cannot open it but as it's a sidetable in a guest room and the guests do not use the drawers in order to not forget it so... I leave it this way! hehehe ... For my first B & A is not bad, right? : P]

Hoy es fiesta en Salamanca, se celebra la fiesta de la Virgen de la Vega y algunos, como yo, su tercer aniversario de boda :D. Como hoy ha sido un día especial, os traigo una entrada "especial" que, si os gusta repetiremos más amenudo. Una de mis grandes aficiones, a mayores de la decoración & el bricoleo (jejeje) es la cocina. Cocino desde hace muuuchos años y, la verdad, no se me da nada mal... :D Además, de unos años a esta parte, leo grandes blogs de cocina como los que podéis encontrar en mi blogroll (se admiten también sugerencias) y esto ayuda a mejorar mi repertorio con infinidad de recetas y truquis que aprendo...

[Salamanca today celebrates the feast of the Virgen de la Vega and some, like me, their third wedding anniversary :D. Como os decia, hoy tenía muchas cosas que celebrar y por lo tanto me decidí a probar una fantástica, rápida y sencilla receta de tiramisú que encontré en el blog de MadebyGirl. No se si serán imaginaciones mías pero esta chica parece que lleva una vida "casi" perfecta. La admiro, la verdad... También me decidí por un plato salado, unas estupendas berenjenas al horno del blog de Silvia, de Mi Dulce Tentación. Si hombre... la que me hizo todos estos estuendos regalos... :D Las recetas aqui y aqui. Prometo que, la próxima vez, si os gusta esta nueva sección, las fotos serán mías ;)

Quien haya leído el número, ¡magnífico número!, de este mes de Septiembre de la revista AD España habrá podido descubrir la nueva colección de muebles que el genial Jean Paul Gaultier ha regalado a Roche Bobois en su 50 aniversario . Según nos cuentan en la revista, desde Roche Bobois queríamos arriesgar, hacer algo nuevo, y él (Jean Paul) era perfecto para eso pues mezla la magia de la Alta Cotura con un estilo três parisino. Además, hay que decir (y esto lo digo yo), que en los muebles de la colección el maestro francés usa la raya marinera de forma tan impecable como siempre. ;) (pinchad aqui para ver la colección)

Y... prestando especial atención a las fotografías que acompañan la revista descubrí... ¡oh, Dios mio! la fórmula mágica para hacer un estupendo y baratísimo D.I.Y al más puro estilo "Devils wear Zara" [estupendo blog que espero visitéis]. ¿Queréis tener una estupenda alfombra Dunkerque (así se llama el modelo que ha diseado para Roche Bobois) D.I.Y by Jean Paul Gaultier? Pues... allá vamos!!!

La alfombra que vamos a "plagiar" (y que Roche Bobois nos perdone) es la que veis en la fotografía que sigue a continuación. Necesitamos una alfombra de rayas marineras azules y unos pompones rojos de lana de los que hemos hecho mil veces cuando eramos pequeñas, y no tan pequeñas, et voilà! aqui tenéis la solución...

La alfombra la he encontrado, como no podía ser de otra manera, en IKEA, podéis pinchar aqui para ver cuánto cuesta. Para los pompones de lana pinchad aqui para ver un tutorial maravilloso que nos ofrece el blog "Bueno, bonito y barato" y el resultado será algo parecido a lo que sigue... ya véis que capacidad tiene la autora de este blog para hacer infografías... juasss!

[Today I show you the easiest form to create a beautiful rug DIY. I saw it in AD Spain last edition and suddenly discover that, maybe, I could contribute to the blog with and easy and cozy D.I.Y. Cuando crees que los objetos decorativos de tu casa son, eso, de "tu casa" porque, además, ya tienen cierta edad y siempre han estado ahí, de repente, un día, vas y te los encuentras en Internet... Y... no, no te los encuentras aqui al ladito, ¡no!, te los encuentras al otro lado del charco en el estupendo blog de Eddie Ross... Sí, sí... ¡El editor de la mismita Martha Stewart!... ¡Toma!

Se que os parecerá una locura ahora que todos buscamos espacios abiertos, diáfanos y sin complicaciones pero, a mi, me encantaría tener una columna en mi salón y que eso significara poder vestirla como en la siguiente fotografía... ¡Me encanta! Por no hablar del ambiente "total white" que sólo se rompe con los marcos negros o de esa especie de "balancín" tan especial que cuelga del techo... Un diez para Anita Kaushal y su "A place I call home".

Hoy estoy muy contenta, hace algunos días Silvia de Mi dulce tentación contactó conmigo para decirme que ¡¡¡había sido la afortunada ganadora de un sorte en su blog!!! Hacía mucho tiempo que no me tocaba nada y la verdad es que fue una alegría grande que, además, me vino estupendamente pues estaba yo un poco tristona ;)

Ahora estoy como loca rebuscando en el blog de Silvia recetas de galletas para poder utilizar los moldes, de postres para darles un montón de color con mis azúcares de colores y, como no podia ser de otra manera, apuntándolo todo en mi maravillosa agenda de OBNI, tienda on-line que aprovecho para recomendar pues es una pasada!

Now I'm madly searching through Silvia's blog cookie recipes to use the molds, and desserts to give a lot of color with my colored sugars and, as could not be otherwise, pointing it all in my wonderful OBNI agenda, OBNI is a great shop on-line and I take the opportunity to recommend it to you because it is soooo cool!

Pero, no quiero desviarme del tema. En el número de este mes de la revista Casa Diez he encontrado unas propuestas estupendas para decorar nuestros recibidores que quiero compartir con vosotras porque me han gustado mucho. Quizá alguna de ellas sirva para poner como Dios manda mi recibidor. No en vano, la primera imagen de la casa es la que ofrece nuestro recibidor y, por eso, debo solucionar cuanto antes este asunto. ;) Vayamos por partes.

{In this month's issue of the magazine Casa Diez I found some great proposals for our hallways decoration I want to share with you because I liked them very much. Maybe some of them help me to find a solution for my hallway. Not surprisingly, the first image of the home are offered by our lobby and, therefore, must be quickly dealt with this issue. ;)}

Las dos propuestas de la revista encajan bastante con la distribución del recibidor de mi casa. El pasillo es más largo pero en esencia se parece mucho y son propuestas aprovechables. En la primera propuesta considero que la eleción del color de las paredes es muy acertada: En verde y blanco, muy alegre. ¿La clave? Una pintura que potencia la luz :o

{The two magazine proposals fit well with the distribution of my hallway. The corridor is longer, but, in essence, the proposalsis arevvery similar and usable. In the first proposal I believe that the election of the color of the walls is very successful: In green and white, very happy. The key? A painting that power the light. :o}

El mobiliario elegido es muy muy sencillo. Me gusta mucho la idea de las dos baldas y cómo están decoradas: Me gusta la lámpara, los libros y los marcos de fotografías. Si queréis verlo más en detalle podéis pinchar aqui para conocer más detalles. ¿Que os parece si yo eligiera el color de la balda en un tono similar al de las puertas y el suelo de mi casa? ¿Quedaría más homogéneo, verdad?

Hoy quiero compartir con vosotros una de mis últimas "pasio/obsesiones"... ¡Me flipa el rojo en la decoración! No apostaría nunca por un "total red" pero reconozco que me encanta combinado con blanco.

{Today I want to share with you one of my last "passions / obsessions" ... I love to use red in decor! I will never bet for a "total red" but I admit that I love it combined with white.}

He estado buscando inspiradoras imágenes pues rondan varios proyectos decorativos por mi cabeza y quería comprobar que la combinación blanco / rojo funcionaba y... ¡voilà! Aqui tenéis una magnífica oficina en casa decorada en blanco y con unos toques rojos que, se me antojan, arrebatadores ¿es o no es? :P






{I've been looking for inspiring images because I haunt many decorating projects in my head and wanted to check that white / red combination works ok and. .. Voilà! Here you have a wonderful home office decorated in white with red touches that seem to me, very cozy isn`t it? : P}

Y como mi intención no es otra que la comprobar cómo funcionaría esta combinación en varias estancias pues... ¡aqui tenéis!. Este precioso rincon ¿también de trabajo? en el que el color predominante esta vez sí es el color rojo. Tiene una fuerza increible y me encanta el realce que adquieren la puerta y la preciosa alacena blanca.

{And... as my intention is simply to see how this combination work in several rooms... Here you have!. This beautiful corner also for work? in which, this time, the dominant is red. I think it has an incredible strength and I love the boost that the cupboard and the white door acquire.}

Me hubiera gustado encontrar algún dormitorio con base en blanco y todos los detalles en rojo (si lo encontráis enviadme la foto, plis) pero no lo he encontrado. Lo que sí he encontrado es esta maravillosa cocina que reúne, para mi gusto, la proporción perfecta de cada color.


{I would like to find a room all in white wiht some details in red (if you find one send it to me, plis) but I have not found it. What I have found is this wonderful kitchen that brings together, for my taste, the perfect amount of each color.}

Ya para terminar os diré que, de momento, solo he conseguido desarrollar un proyecto decorativo como el que describo en esta entrada gracias a mi recién retomada afición por los Sims 2. Si puedo, algún día os subiré un pantallazo para que veáis los casoplones que me marco ¡ja!

Hola, sí, sigo viva... jajaja siento la ausencia pero ya os contaré cosas buenas para que hagáis planes para S.Santa, siento tanto retraso en mis publicaciones... :S y... ¡por supuesto!... gracias por seguir ahí. ;) ¡Sois fenomenales! Hoy vengo a contaros algo que os resultará interesante.. a mi al menos me lo parece: Una web en la que descubrir: trucos para ahorrar.

Si recordáis, hace ya algunos meses os hablé de ella en la entrada: "Tu casa club: Todo un descubrimiento" y el otro día buscando unas cosas para mi casa me acorde de ella y volví para echar un vistazo y ver que había de nuevo. Lo más interesante que encontré fue que TuCasaClub.com quiere ayudar a las familias con trucos para ahorrar en la cesta de la compra ofreciendo vales de descuento. Los cupones se pueden solicitar fácilmente través de la web y luego se reciben en casa por correo. Yo que nunca me entero de este tipo de cosas pues la verdad es que me interesó pues nunca había pensado en que esto fuera una manera de ahorra cómoda y fácil. ;)

Creo que el título de hoy no necesita traducción, se dice "geisha" en inglés y en español ¿no? Pues eso, de ellas vamos a hablar hoy. De ellas y de "shopping", palabro que tampoco necesita traducción... ajajaja Estoy hoy de lo más internacional ;)

Y es que el otro día cuando buscaba mis toallas fucsias para el baño de invitados en Zara Home vi unos pomos para puertas que me volvieron loca y pensé... ¿dónde he visto esto yo antes? Los colores (yo los ví en fucsia) me sobrecogieron por su fuerza y el detalle de la geisha me encantó. Ahora que lo pienso podia coger un par de ellos para animar el mueble de mi baño de invitados. ¿Qué os parece la idea?

The colors (I saw them in fuchsia) startled me by his strength and the detail of the geisha is so lovely... Maybe I could take a couple of them to decorate my guest bathroom furniture. Como os decía, al ver estos tiradores fuscsia pensé que los había visto antes en algún otro sitio pero no podía recordar dónde y justo, al llegar a casa y encender mi ordenador ¡me acorde! Hoy voy a revelaros un secreto: ¡Me encantan los baños! y más aún los baños de invitados. Por eso hoy, quiero enseñaros el mio. Acabo de renovar el color de los textiles y me apetece mucho enseñaroslo a ver si os gusta tanto como a mi.

Today I'm going to reveal a secret: I really like bathrooms and, moreover, guests' bathrooms. So, today, I want to show you my guests' bathroom. I've just renewed the color of its accessories and I wanted to show you to see if you like it as much as me.

Todo comenzó con un regalo, hasta ahora mi baño de invitados tenía los textiles en color azulón pero, esta Navidad, mi cuñada me regaló un bonito bouquet de flores moradas de Sia que quedaba perfecto en el baño de invitados y, tomando este bouquet como punto de partida he hecho algunos cambios.

All started with a gift. My guests' bathroom were dressed with dark blue complements but, this Christmas, my sister in law gave me a beautiful present: A purple flowers bouquet of Sia collection that suits perfect in the guests' bathroom. Taking this bouquet as a starting point I have made some changes.

Me parecía que estas flores daban un toque romántico al baño y, por eso, decidí "animar" los pequeños estantes de mi mueble con unas pequeñas puntillas blancas. Unas velas y unas toallas de mano en la misma gama de las flores fueron suficientes para completar la decoración.

I felt that these flowers were a romantic touch to the bathroom and, therefore, I decided to "encourage" the small shelves of my cabinet with a small white lace. Candles and hand towels in the same range of flowers were enough to complete the decoration.

Para terminar, me gustaría enseñaros el aspecto de mi baño cuando tengo invitados a cenar. Enciendo todas las velas y apago la luz para que, si lo desean, puedan disfrutar tu un baño más acogedor. ¡Me encanta!

To conclude, I would like to show you the look of my bathroom when I have guests for dinner. I light all the candles and turn off the light so that, if they wish, they feel more comfortable.

Salamanca Irrepetible se va de boda... Os anuncié hace ya algunos meses en Algo nuevo, algo viejo... mi intención de escribir de manera constante sobre bodas ahora que, gracias a mi empresa, íbamos a empezar con la organización de bodas irrepetibles ;)



{Weddings arrive to Salamanca Irrepetible! I announced some months ago in my post "Something new, something old..." my intention to write consistently about weddings now that, thanks to my company, we would start with exclusive wedding planning ;) }

Pues bien, hoy por fin puedo enseñaros nuestro primer evento "bodil" como diría Maca Gea ;). El último fin de semana de Enero participamos en la XIV Feria de la Boda que, como cada año, organiza magníficamente bien el Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones de Castilla y León en Salamanca.

A pesar de que era nuestra primera feria y de algún que otro problemilla no sólo personal sino también profesional resultó un éxito y quedamos satisfechos con el resultado. Conseguimos crear un ambiente acogedor e íntimo que contribuyó a que todas las parejas que pasaron por nuestro "stand" se sintieran como en casa.

{Although it was our first meeting and we have to face some problems not only professional but also personal it was a success and we are so satisfied. I think, we create a warm and intimate atmosphere that contributed to all couples who went through our "little cozy corner" feel at home}

Tengo muchas ganas de hacer una fotos a nuestra Oficina Irrepetible pues hemos ido creciendo y cada vez tenemos más cositas que enseñaros. Pero, antes de hacerlo, me gustaría contar con algo de inspiración para poner una pizarra en una de las paredes de la oficina... Asi que... ¡allá vamos!

I am anxious to show you some pictures of our "Oficina Irrepetible" (the place where I work). Our business has been growing and increasingly we have more news to show you. Ultimamente, veo jaulas blancas por todos lados y he decidido que me encantan. Estaréis de acuerdo conmigo en que no tienen ningún uso útil pero son taaaaaan bonitas que no creo poder resisitirme a comprarme un par de ellas...

In these last months, I see white birdcages all around and I have decided I love them. I supposed you will agree with me if I told you that they are not useful at all but are sooooo pretty I can resist and will buy a couple of them ...

Para mi gusto, estas jaulas son muy decorativas y dan un toque romántico a cualquier rincón. Además, me encanta el juego que pueden dar junto con un espejo y algunos portavelas y por eso ya estoy pensando en fabricarme un DIY que, por supuesto, será un rincón "total white"

In my opinion, these birdcages are very decorative and add a romantic touch to any corner. And I love how you can play with some elements such as: a mirror and some candle holders and so I'm thinking about a DIY in which I wil try to create a total white corner.

Y me gustan, no sólo por lo monas que quedan en un ambiente "total white" sino también en ambientes con más colorido o tan florales como estos que nos ofrece Zara Home para esta primavera / verano 2010...

And I love them because they are not only too cozy in a total white corner but also in floral and colorful ones as you can see in Zara Home as a proposal for this spring - summer time.

Y ahora, por favor,...¿alguien sabe decirme en qué tiendas están a la venta? Ultimamente ando yo un poco despistada con tanto trabajo... ¡Gracias! ) Por cierto... ¿Os gustan?
